Modest Outfit Pairing/DIY: Flowy Floral Shirt (Part 1)

I will most likely write a post in the future about modesty being way more than how you dress outwardly. Modesty ultimately starts in the heart. I am no fashionista, but I hope these outfit pairing posts will provide some kind of inspiration for those who are seeking some ideas for cute modest outfits! 🙂

For this particular shirt, I actually made it myself with a piece of spring looking floral fabric that I got on sale. Fabrics are SO expensive! *sad* so please comment and let me know where you get your fabrics or if you have any tips. I wanted to control the shape of the neckline so I used an existing shirt with a modest cut to be my template.

I love the vibrant colors and I knew I wanted something elegant, fun, and easy to match.The fabric itself is not stretchy so I made the shirt bigger and on the flowy side. This offers a wider range for styling and you can easily dress up or down these kind of shirts. Below is one way I chose to dress up this shirt. In a second post I will share a few more ways to style these kind of flowy shirts.

The white pants give the outfit a fresh spring look. It compliments the shirt well since there are white blossoms on the fabric. Since the top is more “busy” I wanted everything else to be on the neutral side, hence the brown belt and wedges.

In this picture, I paired the top with skinny jeans and added a brown tote purse that matches my wedges. Just another look for this style 🙂 The neckline is wide enough where I don’t feel like I am choking, but also safe enough where I don’t have to worry about accidents while bending down.
